Benjamin Leiva is a Senior Research Data Analyst on the Generative AI for Education Hub team. He is interested in leveraging AI and ML techniques for data-driven research on relevant public sector markets.
Benjamin previously worked at University of Chicago’s MiiE Lab building GenAI data pipelines for analyzing the content of textbooks taught in public, private, and religious schools. Before that, he worked as an economist at the Chilean Antitrust Authority developing policies to increase efficiency and competitiveness in strategic markets like education, healthcare, energy, public procurement, and social safety nets.
He holds an MS degree in Computational Analysis and Public Policy from The University of Chicago, an MS degree in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and a BA in Economics from the University of Chile.
