This project is to develop and pilot a NGSS-aligned, project based 3rd-6th grade curriculum with embedded performance assessments. To design the curriculum embedded assessments using the California framework to incorporated life science, earth science, and physical science performance expectations (standards) within each unit. To provide teachers with professional development to enhance their science content knowledge, to increase their understanding of the teaching and assessment implications of NGSS, to gather feedback on the instructional materials as teachers piloted the units, and to assist teachers with the implementation of the curriculum with their students. Upon adoption, this curriculum can impact every school in California.
